More Tightrope Walker progress…

My little weirdo snuck in my office the other night and was in fur heaven.

I had to kick her out when she started trying to eat it, though.

I didn’t get to do a ton of sewing this weekend. Saturday was move day for my grandma. After my Pawpaw passed last year, we got her into an assisted living place, but it was all very fast. A few weeks ago my aunt found a new place opening up not far away, and it was realllly nice and not a big price difference. So she decided to move. The old place was nice but, the new place really looks and feels more like a fancy hotel! She has a much bigger bedroom, a nicer kitchen area, and huuuge closet, and a little backdoor with a patio. We had movers for the big stuff, and we all got there early in the morning to put everything else in our cars to move before it got too hot (we fit everything else between our 4 cars!)

Chase and I stopped at Sonic to get drinks for everybody in between, and when we got there everybody had pretty much already gotten everything out of the cars and the movers were already halfway done, so at that point it was just unloading and unpacking.

After that we took Kevin and met up with Nana and Kristie and Ash to see Ghostbusters. I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a lot of fun and I loved the characters and it was much better than I ever expected it to be.

Sunday was dishwaher day. Our stupid dishwasher has been broken for OVER a year and we finally went out and picked a new one. It comes thursday. The guy we bought it from at the hardware store looked like he could have been Peter Mayhew’s brother.

So anyway… sewing.

I got the excess cut off the skirt and got it hemmed – got the top edge repleated and the waistband installed. So that just needs a zipper, and for me to paint it, obviously.

I decided the shawl was a little too big, so I took the collar off last night, going to take it up tonight. I’m so pleased with how quickly it’s going together.
